Library news and stories: Very Special Bookmarks

Jim in Indianapolis forwarded us this New York Times article on the interesting things people use as bookmarks (or at least leave in books). It reminded him of our Bacon as Bookmark strip, a phenomenon about which we talk in more depth when we speak at conferences and staff days.

Unshelved News: Attention Authors

Starting next year we are trying something new with our sponsorship program. We are reserving several weeks throughout the year for "One Book A Day". Each day for a week, Monday through Sunday, will be devoted to a different book. We think this will create a lot of excitement and interest among our readership of 45,000 librarians and other book nerds.
