For the last four years our good friend Dave Kellett, cartoonist of Sheldon and Drive, has been working with filmmaker Fred Schroeder on a documentary called Stripped, which tells the story of comic strips from the glorious past, to the changing present, and looking forward to the future.
Dave and Fred interviewed over 70 cartoonists including Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes), Jim Davis (Garfield), Cathy Guisewite (Cathy), Mort Walker (Beetle Bailey), Mike & Jerry (Penny Arcade), and Matt Inman (The Oatmeal). They even scored an exclusive chat with recluses Gene Ambaum & Bill Barnes from Unshelved.
Stripped is available on iTunes starting today, Tuesday, April 1, and Dave & Fred are hoping that, by marshaling the combined might of the fans of all the cartoonists involved we can propel the film into the #1 spot for documentaries.
If you are a fan of the comics page I guarantee you will love this film. Please help reward Dave & Fred’s hard work, and bring the world’s attention back to comic strips, by buying Stripped today!
P.S. Please help them out even more by leaving a great review on iTunes.
