Background information

Perhaps you've noticed a change in the way I draw bookcases in the last few days. Or perhaps your unconscious noticed that things look better, but you hadn't consciously noted it. After some experimentation I have concluded that at a distance a bunch of vertical lines look more like books than actually drawing the outline of each book. Plus, it takes less time to draw. When books are nearer the foreground I'll still draw them "realistially," but I'm fascinated with the mind's ability to take that row of lines and turn them into books without thinking about it. Let me know if you like it.

Introducing...

Plans for Unshelved Volume 2 proceed apace. We just lined up an introduction by a famous celebrity whose name will remain secret for now. The book will actually be called something different than Unshelved Volume 2 but we're keeping that a secret too. It's all very cool. And like most things in my future I want to have it NOW.

The Printer Cometh

Our brand-new Epson Stylus Photo 2200 arrived today. This is the professional-quality means by which we are producing our prints, and while it wasn't cheap it's well worth it. Printing with its special matte black ink on official Epson heavyweight matte paper the solid black fills practically glow they're so rich. A pleasure. The many of you who have ordered prints won't be disappointed.
