I'm gingerly placing a toe in the murky waters of FaceBook which, at least, is less ugly than MySpace. I started a group for Unshelved readers called, wait for it, Unshelved Readers. Everyone is invited. Let's see what happens.

If you're not planning on attending the American Library Association 2007 annual conference in Washington D.C., you can safely stop reading now. Because this post is all ALA, all the time.

At ALA:

• We're at booth 2552. Come by and say hi! We'll be selling a good selection of t-shirts and stuff.
• We're announcing the next Unshelved book, with a full-color poster of the cover. Stop by and ooh and aah. You'll be able to pre-order the book at our booth, with free shipping!
• We're kicking off the second annual Pimp My Bookcart contest. The contest sponsor Highsmith will be displaying last year's winner at booth 2125.
• We're signing our ALA "Read Responsibly" poster at our booth Saturday 3pm-4pm. You can buy the poster then, or at the ALA store.
• On a related note, we made a special Unshelved t-shirt for YALSA, $17 at the ALA store. It is a really great shirt, if I do say so myself.

Sometimes folks come to our booth to get a book signed, only to find that one or the other (or both) of Gene and I are elsewhere, presumably attending a program or waiting in line for coffee. So we absolutely postitively guarantee to be there together signing books at the following times:
