Gene and I sifted through almost two hundred entries to our contest. The following ten were the ones that most filled our poetic hearts. Each wins a copy of The Passage signed by author Justin Cronin, supplied by Random House’s Library department.
one could be a garlic farmer
hoeing rows in body armor
Crawl in a corner, have a good cry,
kiss my effing ass goodbye,
Maximum daylight keeps me under cover
Six months on one pole, six months on the other
Stakes driven into hearts
Killer garlic scented farts
When vampires come I won’t be tarrying
I’ll go consult a research librarian.
Three good whacks
with my axe.
@katefitz (best Twilight reference)
when encountering wanna-be Edward Cullen
win his heart by acting sullen
Americans are unhealthy and obesity-stricken,
so convince the vampires to eat more chicken.
destroy the brain or damage the head
wait, that’s zombies - crap! I’m dead!
@katefitz (best Buffy reference)
find a gypsy, cast a spell
give them souls, send them to hell
