Please welcome our returning sponsor Ingram. If you buy your books through Ingram you may appreciate their desktop application IngramWire, which gives you news and updates from their team of specialists. Works on both PC and Mac, and I’m happy to report that the Mac version is much better than it was a few months back!
Today we begin the ultimate, meaning final, Pimp My Bookcart contest. There will never be another!*
Hundreds of contestants from schools and libraries around the world have welded, sewn, glued, glittered, cut, paper mached, painted, lowered, staged, and even crocheted carts into configurations that boggled our minds.
And we’ve had a great time judging the contest. One time we actually agreed right out of the gate on the winner. But other years we settled our disputes the old fashioned way.
Complete rules, prizes, and how to submit your cart in this year’s contest, plus entries (and winners!) from previous years can be found on our Pimp My Bookcart home page, including a whole section just for people who enjoy lecturing us on what a terrible, awful, bad, no-good word “pimp” is, no matter what the OED says.
We hope this year’s Pimp My Bookcart, sponsored once again by the generous folk at Smith System, will also be the ultimate contest in terms of quality of entries. So get to work!
*Unless you decide to have one at your library, which you’re welcome to do. (Email us if you’d like to use our logo.)
