I’m a book geek, so BookExpo America is one of my favorite conferences of the year, a chance to both embarass myself when I meet authors, and to test my back as part of the ongoing How Many Galleys Can I Carry competition. This year it runs from May 24th-26th at the Javitz Center in Manhattan. I’m hoping to see Julianne Moore, Roger Ebert, and Brian Selznick. Bill and I will also be reprising last year’s standing-room-only interview with Nancy Pearl.
The good folks at BEA are giving us 50 VIP passes (which get you in the door for free) for librarians who want to experience the bookish madness, too. One of the 50 winners will also be picked at random to have lunch with Bill and me. (I have no idea if this is a reward or a punishment.)
To qualify, you must:
- Be new to BEA
- Work at library systems with at least 3 branches (or at least one big building)
- Buy books for your library
Just drop me an email and let me know, briefly, how you qualify.
