This weekend our picture book Kickstarter passed 150 backers and $5000, but we need a lot more help to get to the point where we can afford to make these books.
The Best Book will be a lot of fun to read, but it also teaches an important lesson to kids and adults alike, one that seems to resonate with a lot of librarians, as in this comment posted on our Kickstarter by backer Margaret Rutledge:
Just last weekend I was talking to a school librarian who told me children in reading programs who tested beyond their grade levels were being discouraged from reading books at their grade level. She’d seen teachers and parents taking books away from children.
When I heard about your book I just had to sign up. I picked the 3 hardcover books, one for my family the others for my nieces.
I hope this campaign succeeds. It’s a great idea.
